1) About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) set out the agreement between Gymmonkey (“Gymmonkey”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and you (“you”, “Member”) regarding your membership, access to Gymmonkey services, facilities, classes, and related booking services.

By creating a Gymmonkey membership account, accessing our facilities, or making a booking through our website or booking platform, you agree to these Terms and any additional policies that form part of your agreement with us, including:

• the Gymmonkey Booking, Cancellation & No-Show Policy (including special conditions for Wellness Package Members); and

• the Gymmonkey Privacy Policy.

These Terms apply to your relationship with Gymmonkey. Separate terms may apply to specific services, including classes, promotions, or personal training services where offered.

 

2) Membership

2.1 Eligibility

Membership is available to individuals aged 16 years and over.

If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf and accepts responsibility for your use of Gymmonkey services and facilities.

2.2 Free Membership & Premium Packages

Gymmonkey membership is provided free of charge. Membership allows you to create and maintain a Gymmonkey member account and access Gymmonkey’s online services, read public blogs ("Floor Notes"), and access our free general community group ("The Floor").

Membership does not provide general access to Gymmonkey facilities. Gym access is provided only through a valid booking for an available instructor-led class or other service offered by Gymmonkey. Classes and other chargeable services must be booked and paid for separately in accordance with the applicable booking terms.

• Pay-As-You-Go: Members may choose to remain on the free tier and book and pay for individual classes or services separately via the booking system.

• Premium Wellness Packages (Foundations, Growth, Rhythm): Members may optionally upgrade to a paid recurring weekly subscription package. These premium packages grant a dedicated weekly allocation of small group fitness class credits, automated nutritional mapping via our dedicated app, access to our exclusive community space ("The Wellness Circle"), and premium educational content ("Circle Notes"). Facility access remains strictly limited to your active booked class times.

 

2.3 Member Information

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your membership account and notify Gymmonkey of any important changes to your information.

You are responsible for keeping your account information and access credentials secure.

You must not share your membership account, login details, QR codes, or other access credentials with another person.

 

3) Access to Gymmonkey Facilities

Gymmonkey facilities are accessed through scheduled, instructor-led classes and other services offered by Gymmonkey.

Members must have a valid booking before attending a class. Attendance is limited to the scheduled class time stated in the booking confirmation.

A short changeover period may apply between classes to allow the previous class to finish, members to leave the facility, and the next scheduled class to begin.

Members who wish to attend consecutive classes must make separate bookings and complete payment for each applicable class.

Gymmonkey does not provide general open gym access unless specifically stated otherwise.

 

4) Classes and Bookings

Classes offered by Gymmonkey are instructor-led services that must be booked and paid for separately unless otherwise stated.

Class bookings must be completed through the Gymmonkey website, booking platform, or other approved booking method.

Places are limited and subject to availability.

All class bookings, cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, credits, and no-show arrangements are governed by the Gymmonkey Booking, Cancellation & No-Show Policy.

That Policy forms part of your agreement with Gymmonkey.

5) Payments

Where you purchase classes or other paid services, you authorise Gymmonkey and its approved payment service providers to process payment for those services.

Payments are made through the payment methods available through Gymmonkey’s website or booking platform.

You are responsible for ensuring that payment information provided is accurate and up to date.

Where you choose to save a payment method for future purchases, payment card details are processed and stored securely by the relevant payment provider. Gymmonkey does not receive or store your full payment card number or CVV/security code. A secure token or reference may be used to allow future payments to be processed.

Gymmonkey may update prices or introduce new charges for services in the future. Any applicable price will be displayed before purchase.

5.1 Recurring Subscription Billing:

For paid wellness packages, payments are processed automatically every week until cancelled by the Member via their profile. If a recurring weekly payment fails, Gymmonkey reserves the right to automatically suspend your booking privileges, app access, and premium group entry until your account balance is cleared.

 

6) Use of Facilities and Health & Safety

Use of Gymmonkey facilities and participation in fitness activities is voluntary.

You are responsible for considering your own health, fitness level, and suitability before participating in exercise activities.

If you have a medical condition, injury, or concern that may affect your ability to exercise safely, you should seek appropriate medical advice before participating.

Gymmonkey staff and instructors are not medical professionals and cannot provide medical advice.

You must:

• follow reasonable safety instructions from Gymmonkey staff;

• use equipment correctly and responsibly;

• participate safely in instructor-led classes, including following reasonable instructions during warm-up, technique demonstrations, and cool-down activities where applicable;

• notify staff of any safety concerns, hazards, or injuries;

• report any accident or injury as soon as reasonably practicable;

• respect other members and users of the facilities.

Gymmonkey may restrict or refuse participation where reasonably necessary for health, safety, or operational reasons.

 

7) Equipment Use

Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with instructions provided.

You must not misuse, damage, interfere with, or intentionally mishandle Gymmonkey equipment.

Members are expected to take reasonable care of Gymmonkey facilities and equipment. Where a Member intentionally or negligently causes damage to Gymmonkey property, Gymmonkey may recover the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.

Damage caused by misuse may result in suspension or termination of membership or access.

Damage caused by normal wear and tear is not the responsibility of Members.

 

8) Clothing, Hygiene and Personal Conduct

Suitable exercise clothing and footwear must be worn when using Gymmonkey facilities.

Gymmonkey may refuse entry where clothing, footwear, or behaviour creates a safety concern.

Members must behave respectfully towards staff and other members.

The following are not permitted:

• harassment, abuse, intimidation, discrimination, or threatening behaviour;

• conduct that creates an unsafe environment;

• smoking or vaping within prohibited areas;

• recording or photographing other members without appropriate permission.

Members must not use Gymmonkey facilities while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that may impair their ability to exercise safely. Gymmonkey may refuse entry or require a Member to leave where it reasonably believes this is necessary for the safety of those using the facilities.

Members should help maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment by wiping down equipment after use where cleaning materials are provided, disposing of rubbish appropriately, and maintaining appropriate personal hygiene while using the facilities.

Gymmonkey reserves the right to take appropriate action, including restricting access or terminating membership, where conduct breaches these Terms or affects the safety or enjoyment of others.

 

9) Personal Training Services

Gymmonkey facilities may be used by independent self-employed personal trainers who operate their own personal training businesses.

Where you engage a personal trainer directly, the relationship is between you and that personal trainer. The trainer is responsible for their own services, pricing, payment arrangements, and agreement with you.

Gymmonkey does not provide, supervise, or control privately arranged personal training services provided by independent trainers, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Gymmonkey may also offer instructor-led classes delivered by trainers engaged separately by Gymmonkey. Where you book a Gymmonkey class, that booking is a Gymmonkey service and is subject to these Terms & Conditions and the applicable Booking Policy.

All persons using Gymmonkey facilities, including independent trainers and their clients, must comply with Gymmonkey’s facility rules, health and safety requirements, and reasonable instructions.

 

10) Meal Plans, Digital Nutrition, and Food Allergies

Where Gymmonkey provides meal plans, automated nutrition tracking, or customized recipe guidance via our dedicated app, the Member bears sole responsibility for inputting accurate dietary requirements, food allergies, intolerances, and medical restrictions into the onboarding questionnaire.

Automated plan generation serves an educational and lifestyle guidance purpose only. While Gymmonkey takes reasonable care with our nutritional templates, the Member must thoroughly review all ingredients before consumption. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Gymmonkey accepts no liability for adverse allergic reactions or medical complications resulting from ingredients or meals generated via our digital app platforms.

 

11) Promotions and Complimentary Offers

From time to time, Gymmonkey may offer promotions, free classes, trials, or other complimentary offers.

Promotions may be subject to additional terms displayed at the time of booking or participation.

Gymmonkey reserves the right to withdraw or amend promotional offers where reasonably necessary.

Introductory one-time 1-on-1 Personal Training sessions included within wellness packages are strictly limited to one session per individual customer profile lifetime and cannot be redeemed upon package reactivation or resubscription.

 

12) Personal Belongings

Members are responsible for their own personal belongings while using Gymmonkey facilities. Gymmonkey is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal property unless caused by Gymmonkey's negligence.

 

13) Lost Property

Gymmonkey may retain lost property for a reasonable period. Unclaimed items may be disposed of, recycled, or donated where appropriate. Gymmonkey accepts no responsibility for unclaimed property.

 

14) Suspension and Termination

Gymmonkey may suspend or terminate your membership account or access to services where reasonably necessary, including where:

• you breach these Terms;

• you breach safety rules;

• your conduct creates a risk to staff, members, or visitors;

• you misuse facilities, equipment, accounts, or booking systems.

Where appropriate, Gymmonkey may provide notice before suspension or termination. However, immediate action may be taken where necessary for safety or serious breaches.

You may stop using Gymmonkey services at any time.

 

15) Limitation of Liability

Gymmonkey takes reasonable care to provide safe facilities, services, and equipment.

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Gymmonkey is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury arising from your use of Gymmonkey services except where caused by Gymmonkey’s negligence, breach of legal duty, or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you have under applicable Irish consumer protection law.

 

16) Website and Digital Services

Your use of the Gymmonkey website, member area, and digital services is also governed by the Gymmonkey Terms of Use.

The Terms of Use apply separately to digital services and do not replace these Terms.

 

17) Privacy

Gymmonkey processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how Gymmonkey collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information.

 

18) Changes to These Terms

Gymmonkey may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are made, Gymmonkey will take reasonable steps to notify Members where appropriate.

Continued use of Gymmonkey services after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

 

19) Events Outside Our Control

Gymmonkey is not responsible for delays, interruptions, cancellations, or inability to provide services caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including events such as emergencies, severe weather, equipment failure, utility interruptions, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Where possible, Gymmonkey will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.

 

20) General Legal Terms

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Irish law.

Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

Waiver

If Gymmonkey does not enforce a provision of these Terms immediately, this does not prevent Gymmonkey from enforcing it in the future.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Booking Policy, Privacy Policy, and any applicable service-specific terms, form the agreement between you and Gymmonkey regarding the services covered by these documents.
